تعتزم أمانة منطقة الرياض إقامة مهرجان ربيع الرياض التاسع بمدينة الرياض بساحة العروض بالطريق الدائري الشرقي بين مخرجي 10 و 11 خلال الفترة من الأربعاء 8/ جمادى الأول/ 1434هـ الموافق 20/مارس/2013م، حتى الجمعة 17 / جمادى الأول / 1434هـ الموافق 29/مارس/2013م حيث تم تجهيز الموقع لإقامة الفعاليات بمساحة إجمالية تقارب 90000 م2 ومواقف تتسع لـ 1250 سيارة كما يحتوي المهرجان سجادة زهور بشكل جديد تتألف من أكثر من 350 ألف زهرة بأنواع وألوان مختلفة بالإضافة إلى مسطحات خضراء بمساحة تفوق 12000م2 وممرات مشاة مزينة بأحواض الزهور .

يضم ربيع الرياض معرض لتصميم الحدائق حيث أعطيت كل شركة مساحة 150 م2 لإنشاء حديقة مميزة بالإضافة إلى موقع مخصصصة لكل جهة مشاركة لعرض الزهور ونباتات الزينة ونباتات الظل والديكور الداخلي وتنسيقها والمستلزمات الخاصة بذلك ، ويهدف المهرجان الى توثيق روابط التواصل بين العاملين في مجالات عمارة البيئة وتبادل المعارف و الخبرات و تطويرها، و التعرف على كل ما هو جديد في مجال الزهور و نباتات الزينة والتنسيق الداخلي، وليكن احد السمات المميزة لمدينة الرياض ويحمل بين طياته البعد التعليمي والتثقيفي والتربوي في مجال عمارة البيئة والحدائق و النباتات، وغرس حب الزهور و نباتات التجميل في نفوس أفراد المجتمع، خاصة الأطفال و الشباب, بحيث يكون احد روافد الجذب السياحي لمدينة الرياض لدعم صناعة السياحة الداخلية وعنصرا ترفيهيا للعائلات مع أبنائهم من خلال الفعاليات المتعددة و المتنوعة.

و سيشارك في معرض المهرجان الشركات والمؤسسات المتخصصة في مجال الحدائق والزهور ونباتات الزينة والجامعات وقطاعات التعليم والجهات الحكومية ذات العلاقة و يصاحب هذا المعرض مجموعة من الفعاليات الترفيهية والتثقيفية الجاذبة والموجهة لكافة أفراد الأسرة ومنها مسرح المهرجان الذي تم تجهيزه بمستوى عالي وسيتم تقديم العروض الترفيهية من خلاله والمسابقات والألعاب الحركية وعروض الدمى المحببة للأطفال.

بالإضافة إلى فعالية حديقة الطيور والتي تحتوي أكثر من 130 طائر ب 22 نوعا مميزاً وجُهزت الحديقة بممر داخلي بحيث يمكن للزوار مشاهدة الطيور ومن الفعاليات الشاشة المائية وهي عبارة عن شلال مائي بارتفاع 9 م يعرض من خلاله مواد تثقيفية وترفيهية للزوار، ومن الفعاليات الحديقة الإلكترونية ويوجد بها أكثر من 7 فعاليات إلكترونية مجانية وذلك لإدخال روح المرح والترفية في المهرجان ومشاركة الأطفال وإثارة التنافس بينهم، كما يضم المهرجانركن أصدقاء الشجرة لتعليم الطفل كيفية الحفاظ على البيئة من خلال تعلميه طرق زراعة الشجرة والمحافظة عليها.

اما البيت المحمي الذي سيقام داخل المهرجان سيظهر طرق الإكثار المختلفة للنباتات و انواعها و تقسيماتها وذلك لزيادة النواحي التثقيفية للزائر. ويأتي هذا المهرجان ضمن النشاطات المختلفة التي تقوم بها امانه منطقة الرياض و الموجهة لسكان مدينة الرياض و زائريها في إطار سعي الأمانة للقيام بدورها الحيوي في خدمة المجتمع. وهناك أكثر من 25 متخصص لبيع زهور القطف وكوش الأفراح والهدايا
